Welcome to the Paynter Elementary Band!

Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you for participating in the Baldwin-Whitehall Instrumental Music Program.  I am looking forward to making a lot of wonderful music this year with our second year band members and our new young musicians!

Band can be a very exciting and rewarding experience.  I feel that there are two main ingredients for being successful with your instrument.  The first is desire.  If the student likes his/her instrument and wants to play it, practicing will become a fun activity, not work.  The second is commitment.  Learning an instrument can be a frustrating endeavor at times.  If the students and parents dedicate themselves to practicing, success will surely come.


Meet the Teacher
My name is Mike Clancy and I am really looking forward to another year of band at Paynter Elementary School!  This is my fifteenth year in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District.  I have been studying music for 32 years and have music degrees from Duquesne University and Slippery Rock University.  I have also been performing professionally in the Pittsburgh area for nearly 25 years.
